You've survived four (maybe more) years of college and you're about to step out into the 'real world.' Congratulations!
Now you have a unique opportunity to share your best advice for students coming along behind you...and possibly get published in our next book! Help the Class of 2013...share your golden nugget of wisdom for surviving and thriving the freshman year in college by leaving a comment right here or emailing us privately. Any topic of concern to freshmen is fair game: preparing to leave home and to go college; what to expect and do on the first day/week at college; surviving the first exam week; making friends; living with roommates; handling a school-year budget; avoiding the freshmen 15; you name it!
By leaving a comment, you might win one of five copies of the about-to-be-released book, Grads: Take Charge of Your Career, Your Money, Your Life! It's the most comprehensive resource ever for new grads, helping you make a smooth and successful transition from school to the 'real world' of work and independent living.
So think back to your freshman year—the missteps you took, the things that worked for you—and give us your best shot!
Not a member of the Class of 2009? Share your best bit of advice anyway...if you win a book, give it to a special grad or twenty-something in your life. Nothing's better than the gift of success!
Know what you owe! Pay attention to what you're taking out in student loans, what the total will be when you graduate, and if you'll be able to comfortably pay those loans on your expected salary. So many of my friends aren't "opening the bill" until now - and they're getting the shock of their lives!
